Hello INES!
I had been waiting for Issue 17.1 to officially be published to share the editorial, but it appears it will be a bit.
Issue 17.1 will lead with an editorial about our field’s contributions to the current chaos we are currently experiencing in the U.S. as a result of changes in the federal landscape. I’m very honored to share authorship with members of the journal’s board, the INES board, and our two former Editors-in-Chief.
Smith, J. M., Beddoes, K., Downey, G., Jesiek, B. K., Reddy, E., Riley, D., Rossman, J., Wylie, C., York, E., Marques, I., Konstantis, K., Mody, C. C. M. (2025). We have been here Before: Reflections on Engineering and Authoritarianism. Engineering Studies, 1–10. https://doi.org/10.1080/19378629.2025.2466994
The editorial has already received ~1300 views, making it the most read article in the last 12 months. Thank you to all of you who have been sharing it with your colleagues.
All the best,
Jessica
