I wanted to inform this group that there is an opportunity for a renewable
one year appointment teaching engineering culture.
The position will teach three sections per semester of ETC 2001 Engineering
Culture which is housed in the Noorda Interdisciplinary Center of the
College of Engineering, Applied Science & Technology (EAST) at Weber State
University in Ogden, Utah, and directed by the EAST Dean, David Ferro. ETC 2001
is a social science general education course that requires a PhD in Science
& Technology Studies or a related field and someone that has experience
and/or training in understanding the social implications of scientific
discoveries and technological innovation and how
society/culture/economics/history influence those discoveries and
inventions and how they sit in a social context. The Noorda
Interdisciplinary Center is composed of a handful of affiliate members from
a number of disciplines interested in the topic. You would have a fair
amount of leeway in how you can teach these sections. This is both fall and
spring semesters for the academic year of 2025/2026. The college will cover
some of the cost of living on campus. See
