Subject: Register for Engineering Interventions, an online workshop Nov. 12-13!
Dear colleagues,
Please join the International Network for Engineering Studies (INES<https://www.inesweb.org/about>) for an online workshop on Engineering Interventions: Interdisciplinary Engagements with Engineers, Nov. 12-13, 2024.

INES represents the interdisciplinary field of scholars who study engineers and engineering from a variety of social, political, and historical perspectives. The workshop asks: What is the relationship between engineering studies scholars and engineers? What should that relationship be? What can we accomplish with and for engineers? In the spirit of applied and interventionist research, this workshop presents papers and interactive sessions on four themes:

  *   Engineering practice
  *   Strategies for bridging disciplines
  *   Identity in collaborations
  *   Engineering ethics and responsibility
These themes all inform discussion of the question, what do we want our work to accomplish in the world?

The workshop schedule and abstracts are here<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lAGxdqFW0QnVPYe5k3MTAXg-WTo90Ji0ofoTw-4uJZ8/edit?usp=sharing>.

To Register:
Step 1. Complete workshop registration and payment (which includes complimentary INES membership for 2025):
Regular rate<https://inesweb.org/workshop24regular> ($60)
Reduced rate<https://inesweb.org/workshop24reduced> ($45 for students, retirees, reduced income, etc.)

Step 2. Register here<https://purdue-edu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMlde6gqTMrGtaTrgoNfqln_iA6ahKVn9d6> to receive the workshop Zoom link.

See you November 12-13! Please invite your colleagues and students.

Best wishes,
Caitlin Wylie, Sarah Appelhans, and Brent Jesiek
