[INES Announce] Transdisciplinary engineering conference

I’m wanting to connect to that community to highlight a neighbouring community of scholars that I think will (or should) have an overlapping interest: transdisciplinary engineering. Not sure if you’ve come across them before – it’s a cluster of around 200 engineers and growing who are attempting to move towards transdisciplinary approaches in engineering, which in part involves a greater collaboration with social sciences. With that latter aspect in mind, I’ve wanted to connect the engineering studies community with them, to enable a more integrated interdisciplinary (and critical) perspective on engineering practice.

The community holds an annual conference and this year I am the programme chair, so I got to include a more ‘social’ theme within the conference programme (it’s normally pretty much ‘systems approaches to X’, ‘modelling Y’, ‘product design on Z’ otherwise) in order to open up a space for a more critical community to take part and build collaborations. So I was wondering if there was a way of sending something to the engineering studies community to highlight this conference to them? I am planning to put something in on this to ES so that’s one way, but if there are other channels, I’d be keen to use them.
